Our commitment to CASL
Canadian Sex Toys, operated by 18226415 Canada Corp, is fully committed to complying with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), which came into force on July 1, 2014. CASL governs the sending of commercial electronic messages (CEMs) — including promotional emails and newsletters — to recipients in Canada.
We only send marketing communications to individuals who have provided express or implied consent as defined under CASL. We never purchase email lists, and we never send unsolicited commercial messages.
What is CASL?
CASL (S.C. 2010, c. 23) is federal legislation that prohibits sending commercial electronic messages without the recipient's consent. It applies to emails, text messages, and other electronic messages sent to Canadian recipients. Non-compliance can result in significant administrative monetary penalties.
Express consent
Express consent is obtained when a person clearly and explicitly agrees to receive commercial electronic messages from us — for example, by checking a consent checkbox on our newsletter signup form. Our signup forms clearly identify who is seeking consent, describe the type of messages to be sent, and include a link to this CASL compliance page and our Privacy Policy. We maintain records of all express consents.
Implied consent
Implied consent may exist where you have an existing business relationship with us — for example, if you have made a purchase within the past two years, or made an inquiry within the past six months. Implied consent is time-limited and expires as set out under CASL. We track implied consent periods and cease sending CEMs when implied consent expires and no express consent has been obtained.
Unsubscribing
Every commercial electronic message we send includes a clear, easy-to-use unsubscribe mechanism. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by contacting us directly at [email protected]. We process all unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as required by CASL.
Message identification
All commercial electronic messages we send clearly identify 18226415 Canada Corp as the sender, include our mailing address, and provide contact information so you can reach us. We never disguise or misrepresent the origin or subject matter of our messages.
Third-party senders
We use Mailchimp as our email marketing platform. Mailchimp processes your email address on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We do not share your contact information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
